Framed artwork of birds on a branch with red berries-Anne Worsham Richardson Bluebirds Print

Anne Worsham Richardson Bluebirds Print

$98.00

Anne Worsham Richardson (1919-2012) was known as the “Charleston Bird Lady." She painted South Carolina's official portraits of the State Bird and the State Flower and was inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame in 1991. Mrs. Richardson established a bird sanctuary to rehabilitate injured birds and also opened the Birds I View Gallery in 1972 in Charleston, where she displayed and sold her paintings and prints (it closed in 2016).

This highly collectible lithograph of one of Richardson's original watercolors was sold at her Charleston gallery, where she hand-signed a personal dedication to the purchasers: "To Dick and Vonnie, Best Wishes, Anne Worsham Richardson   1992" on the paper label on the back with her biography and portrait. Two Eastern bluebirds are shown perched on berry branches on an off-white background surrounded by a narrow, soft blue stripe. The artist's name is printed just below the birds, with her signature in script below. At the bottom right is printed: COPYRIGHT © 1970 by ANNE WORSHAM RICHARDSON.

The framed size is 12 1/4 inches tall by 10 1/4 inches wide by 3/4 of an inch deep. The oak frame is 1 1/4 inches wide with a bonus: non-glare glass was used which really enhances the print. This beautiful artwork weighs 1 pound, 8 ounces. The glass, frame and print are all in excellent condition, ready to admire in your home.
