Cyclamen Pottery Pitcher by Julie Sanders
Julie Sanders (1939-2013) was born in Los Angeles and the ceramics she made reflect the California pottery vibe, with organic forms and vibrant colors. Her handmade "Cyclamen Collection" with its semi-matte glaze on a textural clay has many devoted fans. It was featured in two different annual issues of "Design 100" by Metropolitan Home Magazine, billed as "The Year's Best Guide to Modern Design."
This lofty footed pitcher of hers is an intense royal blue, appearing to have in certain light conditions a bit more purple than in others. It measures 13 1/2 inches tall to the top of the arched, pulled handle with a round base 5 1/4 inches in diameter. The pulled spout is elongated and pointed. The piece weighs a hefty 4 pounds and is in outstanding condition. The bottom is signed with Julie Sanders's iconic "Cyclamen."
