The 1 inch wide wooden frame is composed of three different intricate, decorative moldings and is gilded a muted antique gold. This style of frame was popular in the 1930's. It's possible it was reused for this painting, since the dust paper and the hanging wire on the back are newer...or it could be original to the painting and it was just rebacked, which would indicate the painting also was created in the 1930's.
The framed measurements are 17 1/2 inches high by 13 1/2 inches wide and the artwork weighs 1 1/2 pounds. There are rubbed and darkened spots on the frame, but overall it's in very good condition, with no structural damage and nice tight corners. The painting has no scratches, paint loss or other damage. It's ready to hang and admire and enjoy.
