The framed size is 20 inches high by 17 inches wide and it weighs 6 pounds. Since it is a shadowbox frame, it projects from the wall 2 1/4 inches.
The medallion of Napoleon is dark brown ceramic, set against a tan silk mat, which is surrounded by a dark brown silk mat. It's finished with gilded concave wood panels with a fine grain. The outermost wooden frame is gilded and carved with laurel leaves, to match the laurel leaves on Napoleon's head. It is a large, heavy, impressive piece.
